MORE ABOUT THIS CLASSIC...

A genuine home market right-hand drive, built in the first year of Series 3 production. Meticulously cared for with no expense spared on ensuring the E-type was finished right!

It’s understood the E-type was first fully restored in the late 1990’s by a Midlands Jaguar specialist but in 2001 was given to Wolverhampton Jaguar restorer, Vicarage cars for the project’s completion. Following its restoration the E-type was used sparingly, making up one of 30 cars in a large classic car collection.

In 2009, the E-type exchanged hands to Mr Foster, West Yorkshire, who began the second phase of restoration. Foster actioned the recommissioning of the original 4-speed manual gearbox, installing an uprated steering rack and new Kenlowe cooling fans. The next major project began in Autumn 2010, continuing to September 2011, seeing the following work completed:

  • Suspension overhauled with poly bushes
  • GAZ adjustable shock absorbers
  • AP racing brakes and vented discs
  • Reconditioned IRS
  • High torque starter
  • Halogen headlights
  • Uprated heater
  • Silicone cooling hoses
  • Full chassis strip and repaint
  • Interior retrim with custom seat with headrests
  • New hood

This second phase of the E-type’s restoration totalled over £40,000 spent, finishing the car in fantastic show condition.

For the following 3 years, the E-type covered just 3,000 miles before entering the market for sale via a North Yorkshire classic car dealer. Described at the time to be in ‘first class, show condition’ and as a ‘truly outstanding Jaguar E-type V12 Roadster’, it is no surprise the E-type was quickly snapped up by the current owner in Summer of 2014.

Like his predecessor, the current owner continued to treat the iconic machine to regular maintenance and servicing, which saw the E-type taken to several specialists, including E-Type U.K in November 2014. For the last 8 years, the E-type has been under the care of a sports car specialist based in Headcorn, Kent. The Kent-based team were tasked with the E-type's third stage of restoration. Seeing the following projects undertaken:

  • Engine rebuild and tuning
  • New clutch
  • Reconditioning the heating system
  • Treating and painting floor plan surface rust
  • Repairing bonnet, picture frame and boot lid metalwork
  • Detailing engine bay
  • Retrimming and installing original Series 3 seats
  • Replacing interior sill trim

During this time the E-type was also treated to a few upgrades that include:

  • Stainless steel 12 branch exhaust manifolds
  • Aluminium radiator with new twin cooling fans
  • Upgraded water pump

By the end of 2018, the E-type had over £65,000 spent through restoration and upgrades. Following this third phase, the E-type was professionally stored for Winter 2018/2019.

The most recent years have seen the careful upkeep maintained, resulting in an exceptionally stunning Series 3 V12 example. With its paintwork, interior and engine bay in fantastic condition, the E-type must be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
