OVERVIEW

Launched in the late 1970s, the BMW R100RS redefined the touring motorcycle. Designed by Hans Muth, its revolutionary wind-tunnel-tested nine-piece fairing was the first of its kind and enabled sustained 100mph cruising, transforming long-distance riding. Four decades later, the R100RS remains one of the most accomplished and respected tourers of its era.

This example has remained in low ownership since new, firsted purchased from the showroom as a dealer demonstrator. Alloy rims, stainless spokes, and well-preserved gaiters further underline its careful upkeep.

Mechanically, the 980cc flat twin remains a robust, unstressed unit, noted for its reliability and long-distance capability. The braking assemblies, forks, and wheels show light weathering but no concern. The bike has been regularly garaged and dry stored.
