Built-in October 1965 and sold via Jaguar Car, New York, the E-type is believed to have remained stateside for most of its life, before being sold and exported to the UK in October 1990.

Purchased by Norfolk Classic Cars Ltd, described on the import documents as just “Jaguar E-type shell”, the E-type was quickly sold to Mr Jones who decided to take the restoration project on and action a much-needed refurbishment. Understood to have been restored by Alan Collins, Jaguar Specialists in circa 2002/2003, the E-type’s history file features a handful of photos documenting the restoration and rebuild of the E-type. Another file outlines that upon arrival the E-type was found badly damaged, requiring all new panels and floors, sourcing required parts from only well-known and reputable remanufacturers, the Roadster was completed to UK right-hand drive specification, finished in a correct Jaguar Dark Blue and Grey interior.

The E-type was treated to extensive engine work in 2008 by Thurston Engineering Limited, Essex. Following this, a private sale to a Mr Mould was achieved in December 2009. With his new purchase, Mr Mould started the year off right with an exciting upgrade programme with UK leading E-type specialists, E-Type UK.

E-Type UK began the reliability and performance upgrade project in September 2010, completing the following notable projects to the tune of circa £30,000:

  • Sports cooling with an aluminium radiator
  • Ignition upgrade
  • High torque starter
  • Dynamo to Alternator upgrade
  • Uprated torsion bars
  • Stainless Steel exhaust system

The E-type returned to E-Type UK across the following years for further projects and upkeep, ensuring the E-type remained it perfect working order.

The start of 2016 saw the E-type change hands to the current custodian, registering 4171 miles covered since its 2003 restoration. The E-type remained in the UK for several years before it was relocated to the owner's Spanish residence to fully enjoy this 60’s convertible. After years of enjoyment, the E-type was garaged as the owner began traveling for work. In 2022, the decision was made to remove the car from its Spanish dwelling and return the classic car to E-Type UK, to be offered for sale!

Arriving in Kent, UK, June 2022, the E-type was prepared for sale by E-Type UK, addressing faults that had developed during the duration of storage. Now offered for sale by DM Historics, Jaguar sales specialist and sister company of E-Type UK, the E-type is ready to hit the road again.
