Rare, Restored, and Built to Be Used
The early Aston Martin V8 is often overlooked in favour of earlier DB cars.
But in reality, it represents something quite different — a more muscular, long-distance grand tourer, combining hand-built craftsmanship with genuine performance.
This Series 3 example captures that character well.
One of just 967 produced, and presented in Imperial Blue over cream, it benefits from a comprehensive restoration completed in 2017, followed by continued maintenance and refinement. The result is a car that retains its period presence, but offers the kind of usability expected of a properly sorted example.
Not a static collector piece. A car intended to be driven.

OUR VIEW
The appeal of the early Aston Martin V8 has shifted in recent years.
Where they were once seen as heavier, less refined successors to the DB series, they are now recognised for what they are — genuinely usable, characterful GT cars with a strong sense of presence and performance.
But, as with many cars of this era, the difference between average and good examples is significant.
Poorly restored or inconsistently maintained cars quickly lose their appeal. Equally, untouched examples can require substantial recommissioning to be properly usable.
This car sat in the right place.
A restoration-led example, followed by continued upkeep, it offered the balance most buyers are now looking for — strong presentation, mechanical confidence, and the ability to be enjoyed without hesitation.
At DM Historics, that balance is key. We look for cars that represent the model as it should be experienced today — not just how it left the factory.
This was one of them.
