Pebble Beach Concours Participant
Most classic cars come with history.
Very few come with history that actually matters.
This XK120 is one of those rare examples — a car whose story isn’t retrospective or assembled over time, but genuinely documented, recognised, and understood within the marque.
First delivered in 1953 and later associated with Ecurie Ecosse, this car has passed through the hands of noted Jaguar enthusiasts and has remained remarkably original throughout its life. Its significance was further reinforced when it was selected to appear at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2018, presented within the Postwar Preservation Class.
This wasn’t simply a well-kept XK120.
It was a reference point.

OUR VIEW
There’s a clear distinction in the classic market between restored cars and preserved ones.
Restored cars can be impressive.
Preserved cars, when genuine, are far rarer — and far harder to replicate.
What stood out with this XK120 was not just its history, but its integrity. The car hasn’t been over-restored, reinterpreted, or altered to meet modern expectations. Instead, it remains an honest reflection of its life — from period ownership through to concours-level recognition.
That’s precisely why it was selected for Pebble Beach.
At this level, provenance isn’t an added benefit — it is the value. And cars like this don’t sit comfortably alongside standard market comparisons, because they operate on a different level of relevance entirely.
At DM Historics, these are the cars that define the upper end of what we handle. Not because they are perfect, but because they are irreplaceable.
This was one of them.
