Fully Resolved E-Type V12

The Series 3 E-Type has always divided opinion.

On paper, it offers more — V12 power, refinement, grand touring capability. In reality, many examples fall short due to unresolved engineering compromises and inconsistent restoration standards.

This car was approached differently.

Restored and developed by E-Type UK, it represents a considered reworking of the Series 3 platform — retaining its core identity while addressing the areas that limit real-world usability. The result is a car that delivers on the promise of the V12 E-Type, rather than simply presenting it.

Not just restored. Resolved.

OUR VIEW

The Series 3 E-Type requires a different lens.

Left standard, it can feel heavy, inconsistent, and compromised compared to earlier cars. That’s why many buyers overlook it.

But when approached correctly, it becomes something else entirely.

What stood out here was the depth of the work. This wasn’t a surface-level restoration or a collection of upgrades. It was a full re-engineering of the car, carried out with a clear understanding of how to unlock the V12 platform’s strengths while resolving its weaknesses.

That’s not easy to achieve.

Too often, these cars are either left underdeveloped or over-modified. This car avoided both — retaining the identity of the Series 3 while delivering a level of usability and performance that aligns with modern expectations.

At E-Type UK and DM Historics, that philosophy defines how we approach these cars — not just restoring them, but finishing the job properly.

This was a clear example of that.
