3 DIFFERENT CLASSICS | WHICH IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

There’s a mistake buyers make far too often in the classic car world: chasing the “right” car on paper instead of the right car for the way they actually drive.

The truth is, the best classic car isn’t always the fastest, the rarest, or even the most valuable. It’s the one that fits the experience you want every time you reach for the keys.

At DM Historics, we currently have three completely different cars available for sale, each offering a totally different ownership experience:

- A lightweight pre-war French sports car
- A V8-powered grand touring icon
- A naturally aspirated V12 Ferrari GT

Three cars. Three personalities. Three very different types of owner.

The real question is: which one sounds most like you?

PURE DRIVING | AMILCAR CS TORPEDO

The 1925 Amilcar CS Torpedo is about as far removed from modern motoring as it’s possible to get.

Tiny, lightweight and beautifully mechanical, the Amilcar delivers an experience that feels completely alive. There are no filters, no driver aids, no distractions — just you, the car, and the road ahead.

Every journey becomes an occasion. Crucially, this isn’t simply an Amilcar — it’s a rare CS example, representing the more sporting and desirable side of early Amilcar production. Lightweight, purposeful and increasingly difficult to source in well-presented condition, cars like this appeal to collectors looking for genuine pre-war character rather than static museum pieces.

This is the sort of car that attracts owners who genuinely love the process of driving. The sound, the movement, the involvement, the challenge. It rewards commitment in a way modern performance cars simply cannot.

For the right buyer, the Amilcar offers:

- Authentic pre-war motoring character
- Lightweight, engaging handling
- Vintage rally and event appeal
- A truly analogue driving experience
- Something exceptionally rare and conversation-starting

It’s not a car for passive ownership. It’s a car for people who want to feel every mile.

And in today’s increasingly digital automotive world, that experience has become incredibly special.

Long-Distance GT | JENSEN INTERCEPTOR MKIII

At the opposite end of the spectrum sits the 1974 Jensen Interceptor MKIII.

Where the Amilcar is delicate and focused, the Jensen is relaxed, muscular and effortlessly cool.

With its Chrysler V8 power, automatic gearbox and unmistakable Italian-designed bodywork, the Interceptor remains one of the most charismatic GT cars of the 1970s. It combines British style with American muscle in a way very few classics ever managed successfully.

The beauty of the Jensen is its usability. Rarity also plays a major part in this car’s appeal. The MkIII Convertible is one of the rarest Interceptors produced, with just 86 UK-market examples believed to have been built. That exclusivity gives the car a very different presence in today’s market compared to the far more commonly seen fixed-head alternatives.

This is a car that wants to be driven properly — long road trips, weekends away, European touring, luggage in the back and miles disappearing beneath you with ease.

This particular example offers an especially compelling ownership proposition, combining classic Interceptor presence with thoughtful upgrades and development that help make it a more enjoyable modern classic to use today.

The Jensen is ideal for buyers wanting:

- Effortless V8 cruising
- Genuine grand touring capability
- Four-seat practicality
- A more individual alternative to Aston Martin or Jaguar
- Huge character and road presence

Importantly, Interceptors still feel relatively undervalued compared to many contemporaries. That balance of rarity, usability and charisma is becoming increasingly difficult to find at this level.

MODERN ANALOGUE | FERRARI 575M

Then there’s the 2003 Ferrari 575M Maranello Manual.

A car many enthusiasts now view as one of the last truly usable analogue Ferrari grand tourers.

Front-engined V12. Elegant proportions. Naturally aspirated power. Proper long-distance capability.

The 575M occupies a fascinating sweet spot in Ferrari history. Modern enough to use comfortably and confidently, yet still analogue enough to feel genuinely special every time you drive it.

And of course, there’s the engine. This particular 575M also benefits from being one of just 69 right-hand-drive manual examples built, placing it firmly within an increasingly sought-after category of modern analogue Ferraris. As collectors continue shifting towards lower-production, manual V12 Ferraris, cars like this are becoming significantly harder to replace.

A naturally aspirated Ferrari V12 remains one of the great automotive experiences, and the 575M delivers it with maturity rather than theatrics. Fast when you want it to be, composed when you don’t.

This is a Ferrari designed for covering distance properly, not just posing outside restaurants.

The 575M appeals to buyers looking for:

- A usable modern classic Ferrari
- Naturally aspirated V12 character
- Elegant, understated styling
- High-speed GT comfort
- A more analogue driving experience than newer Ferraris

As the industry moves further towards hybridisation, turbocharging and digital intervention, cars like the 575M are becoming increasingly appreciated for what they represent: one of the final traditional Ferrari GT cars.

THREE CARS, THREE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES

The Amilcar, Jensen and Ferrari have almost nothing in common on paper.

Different eras. Different engineering philosophies. Different speeds. Different purposes.

But they all deliver something increasingly difficult to find:
Character.

The important thing is choosing the car that genuinely matches the way you want to drive and enjoy ownership.

Whether that’s pre-war mechanical purity, V8 grand touring comfort or naturally aspirated Ferrari theatre, each of these cars offers a completely different route into classic car ownership.

And importantly — each one is available now at DM Historics. Opportunities to acquire cars like these — each offering completely different ownership experiences, yet united by rarity, character and analogue appeal — are becoming increasingly limited.

If one of these cars feels like your kind of driving experience, we’d be delighted to discuss it further.
